Krysta has an amazing drive and passion for soccer and has accomplished something almost unheard of by starting a club from scratch.

FC Westlake Director & General Manager Stephen Ferguson added “Krysta is the perfect fit for FC Westlake, she’s a highly skilled coach, administrator and ambassador for youth soccer, we are extremely fortunate to have Krysta join the FC Westlake family and bring her entire program with her. This new location in South Austin will serve families who don’t have the capacity to drive into Westlake for practices whilst providing Krysta with the support and direction she needs to continue down the path to greatness.”

Mike Smith – Mike will serve as the FC Westlake College Exposure Director. This is a vital part of our program as we help high school aged players prepare for college and the possibility of playing soccer collegiately. Mike has over 17 years of college coaching experience as the head coach for St. Edwards University. Mike has also served as the College Placement Director for Dundee Juniors, Dynamo Juniors & Lake Travis and assisted in the placement of hundreds of youth players into colleges across the country.

FC Westlake Director of Coaching Andy McClelland added “We’ve been searching for a college coordinator for the last 12 months and I’m delighted to have Mike join the FC Westlake family. He has spent the last 30 years coaching both collegiately and club soccer, providing the perfect background for this position. As we’ve grown rapidly over the last 4 years we now have over 150 high school aged players in the program, providing them an experienced and proven College Placement Director is the final piece in the puzzle for our older players.”

Alex Olivares – Alex will serve as the FC Westlake Curriculum Director. As a student of the game who is passionate about coaching, Alex brings tremendous knowledge and a skillset for building the most progressive curriculum in youth soccer. Alex is the current varsity boys coach for Crockett High School in Austin; he also served as a staff coach and interim director of coaching for Dundee Juniors.

FC Westlake Boys Director Conor Edmondson added, “Alex is an amazing addition to the FC Westlake staff, his passion for coaching and coaching education is remarkable. His vision for youth soccer fits perfectly with FC Westlake’s philosophy and having someone dedicated to creating a curriculum for all our staff and players is going to be an invaluable resource.”

Darci Carruthers – Darci is the current varsity girls coach for Westlake High School and will serve a vital role in our Junior Academy & Recreational program. Her experience coaching at all levels of youth soccer will provide an indispensible platform and resource for players and parents as they transition from the Recreational program to Junior Academy and finally select soccer. Darci has spent the last 14 years coaching with Dundee Juniors, Dynamo Juniors & Lake Travis.

FC Westlake Director & General Manager Stephen Ferguson said, “It’s such a natural fit for the club having the Westlake High School varsity girls coach join our staff. I’ve known Darci for over a decade and she has done tremendous work in the youth soccer community, especially helping build the Lake Travis Youth soccer program currently know as Dundee Juniors. I’m delighted Darci is joining the program and I know the younger players will benefit tremendously from her experience and enthusiasm.”

Jaime Meshew - Jamie will serve as The Goalkeeping Director. As an experienced college coach Jamie will provide our net minders with technical and tactical skills required to make it to the next level as a goalkeeper.  She holds a USSF "A" License and a USSF "National Goalkeeper" License.

FC Westlake Boys Director Conor Edmondson had this to say, "Jamie has developed an incredible relationship with our goalkeepers over the past 8 months. This has led to her new role as Goalkeeping Director. I am very excited to have her leading our Goalkeeping Academy and to watch our goalkeepers excel in the future."

Zach Shearer – Zach is joining our FC Westlake family as a staff coach after spending the last two years working with Dundee Juniors. Zach will work closely with our program directors and will coach several select teams next season. His experience with both college age and youth players will be a perfect fit for FC Westlake.

FC Westlake Director of Coaching Andy McClelland says, “Zach’s infectious personality and passion for the game really shines through in his coaching. He loves the game of soccer and his players adore and respect him. We are very fortunate to have Zach join the FC Westlake team.”
